In order to effectively promote the transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements and further strengthen school enterprise cooperation, the final of the SDG Open Innovation Marathon Challenge "Beautiful China's Sewage Treatment System" Wan Chuang Environmental Protection Competition, hosted by Tsinghua University X-lab and co organized by Wan Chuang Environmental Protection Co., Ltd., was successfully held on September 27th in the Yuanlou Conference Room of Su Ma Park, Suzhou City.

Hao Xiuqing, Director of X-Lab at Tsinghua University, Chen Xi, Associate Researcher at the School of Environment at Tsinghua University, Li Xiaohui, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Science and Technology Bureau of Suzhou City, Liu Guangwen, Minister of Investment Promotion Department of SuMa Park, Chen Na, Deputy General Manager of SuMa Investment Group, relevant persons in charge of the Park Management Committee, branch offices, Dongcheng Administrative Committee, and Wancho Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. attended the event. The competition specially invites six expert judges, including Professor Cui Kangping from the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering at Hefei University of Technology, Director Kuang Wu from the Water Environment Research Institute of Anhui Academy of Ecological and Environmental Sciences, Professor Feng Huijuan from the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, and Professor Ren Chong from the University of Science and Technology of China.

Hao Xiuqing, Liu Guangwen, and Li Xiaohui delivered welcoming speeches respectively. Hao Xiuqing pointed out that through this innovation challenge based on the real proposition of enterprises, we need to explore effective paths for school enterprise cooperation, assist enterprises in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of innovation, support their economic development, and jointly promote the realization of innovation driven development strategies; Liu Guangwen hopes that through this competition, the exchange and cooperation between Tsinghua University and Wancho Environmental Protection, as well as between Tsinghua University and Suma Park, will be further strengthened, and new models of deep integration of industry, academia, and research will be explored together. Knowledge and practice will be further combined to jointly create a new situation of technological innovation; Li Xiaohui emphasized that innovation and optimization of sewage treatment plant processes are the key to solving sewage treatment problems. This event will surely stimulate our innovative vitality in the field of sewage treatment, gather a number of scientific and technological achievements in the field of sewage treatment, and further promote the continuous progress of sewage treatment work in Suzhou City and even the whole country. At the same time, he expressed his sincerest wishes and expectations to all participating teams, and welcomed teachers and students from Tsinghua University to come to Suzhou for employment and entrepreneurship.

There are a total of 9 participating teams in this event, presenting innovative and practical sewage treatment solutions through technology innovation sharing and expert evaluation. After fierce competition, Qinghua Weilan Nano New Materials won the first prize, Guangdong Hanhan Twin Cloud Technology Co., Ltd. won the second prize, and Beijing Qingyuan Huajian Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. won the third prize, with 6 winners. The outstanding performance of the on-site participating teams fully demonstrates the enormous innovative vitality and potential in the field of sewage treatment.

In his concluding speech, Bian Zhiming, General Manager of Wancho Environmental Protection Co., Ltd., pointed out that this event is a scientific research bridge built by Wancho Environmental Protection and Tsinghua University. The company will strengthen cooperation with well-known universities and research institutes, develop new materials, technologies, and processes for environmental protection based on the company's development needs, and use the environmental protection sub field as a breakthrough point to solve development problems, promote the application and transformation of scientific research achievements, and enhance the company's core competitiveness.
