On the afternoon of May 8th, Qin Weiguo, Secretary of the Huaibei Municipal Party Committee, and Wang Jihong, Secretary General of the Municipal Party Committee, visited the Suixi Second Sewage Treatment Plant to investigate the third phase of the upgrading and expansion project. Guo Hailei, Secretary of the Suixi County Committee, Yu Lei, Deputy Director of the Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, and others accompanied the investigation.

The Suixi Second Wastewater Treatment Plant is invested and constructed by Anhui Lihe Water Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wancho Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. It was officially put into operation in August 2011. The third phase of the upgrading and expansion project is to upgrade the existing treatment capacity of 60000 m ³/d of the original plant system, and simultaneously construct an expansion project with a design treatment capacity of 40000 m ³/d, a chemical wastewater pretreatment project with a design treatment capacity of 15000 m ³/d, and a drainage project. After completion, the sewage treatment capacity will increase to 100000 m ³/d.

Qin Weiguo emphasized the need to focus on the present and the long term, improve the preliminary procedures as soon as possible, ensure early commencement, completion, and effectiveness of the project, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the ecological environment quality in Huaibei.
